Focus Group Meeting in Helsinki

Our second Focus Group meeting was held in Helsinki from 20-21 May 2015. Directly building on the experience of the Barcelona meeting and the feedback from the academic directors in Southern Europe, we engaged with academic directors of Master’s programmes in Northern Europe to further test and improve our Guiding Tools. The 13 participants discussed among others about the following topics:

• “New Style” admission (subject specific skills, general academic competencies, personal & interpersonal characteristics)
• Securing stakeholder commitment
• Nuts&Bolts: Tests and tools to establish admissibility
• Procedures: Dynamics between admissions, attractiveness and success of a Master’s programme
• Obstacles: Addressing internal & external administrative obstacles.
